Welcome to my Website and thank you for taking the time to visit. I am Innes Macdonald. In 2024 I rebranded my business to become IMAC-Driving Instructor Training. I provide professional training for individuals who are embarking on a new career to qualify as a self-employed Driving Instructor.  In addition, I provide a service to qualified Approved Driving Instructors (ADI’s) with their Continuous Professional Development (CPD) requirements, such as preparation for Standards Checks, improving Coaching Techniques and support for day to day Lesson development and delivery.

My Qualifications

In 2005, I qualified as an ADI with a national Driving School. Thereafter, I embarked on developing my skills to train driving instructors and in 2008 I became DVSA ORDIT Registered, after successful completing my Part 3 ORDIT Inspection. I continued my association with the national Driving School until 2017, at which point I established my own independent training business as Innes Macdonald Driver and Instructor Training.

During this time, I have developed a depth of experience and success in training Learners to drive and successfully pass their driving test.

Instructor Trainer

As an Instructor Trainer I have a proven track record of training over 40 individuals across the Highlands and Islands to become fully qualified Driving Instructors and move on to successfully establish their own driving schools. Additionally, I have provided training to many established ADI’s in the Highlands in support of completing successful Standards Checks.

Whatever your circumstances, be that, an individual considering becoming a Driving Instructor, a Potential Driving Instructor (PDI) needing Part 2/3 Training or a qualified ADI, new or experienced, I can provide bespoke training solutions for YOU. 

My Training Method

My approach goes beyond conventional training methods, I delivery training in a common sense easy to understand manner. I make the “Complicated, Simple” and in doing so i create a training environment where the learning is both enjoyable and effective. It doesn’t matter what level you are at; I am here to help you build on your existing skills so you continue to thrive, develop and achieve your goals.

I see “every day as a learning day” and have always set out to improve my skills, keep up to date and look beyond modern training styles. Embracing the unconventional, allows me to quickly adapt to individual training needs and industry changes and challenges This gives my students the best possible foundation and opportunity to achieve the goals.
